On 14 January 2016, IES and SW Advisory supported the Electricity Regulator of Vietnam (ERAV) by presented the key features of Vietnam’s Wholesale Electricity Market and supporting regulations to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT). The workshop was attended by Deputy Minister Hoang Quoc Vuong and representatives of from General Directorate of Energy, Department of Finance under MOIT, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), National Load Dispatch Centre, Power Corporations, National Transmission Corporation and other stakeholders.
Under a World Bank financed Technical Assistance package, IES and SW Advisory have been working with ERAV to finalise the detailed design of Vietnam’s Wholesale Electricity Market (VWEM), develop the VWEM Rules and develop the supporting legal and regulatory framework.
